Something's been happening lately...
Good times :) Still didn’t compare to Franz Ferdinand, Mando Diao and Starsailor last year though. Best concert of my life. That’s not saying much, since I’ve only been to about five, and one of those was just a load of screamo bands in the parking lot of the village skatepark. I think one of them was called Tears of Blood. They threw blood ( ie. Red paint) into the crowd (ie. Two moshing goth-girls). Aaaanyway, that’s all ancient history now. In more recent news, I have made my university choices. Yay ! Finally the days of stressing and compulsively checking ucas every five secods are over. I’ve got Oxford as my firm choice, York as insurance. Woo ! I feel like the people in my class are going to take over the world. We’re all going off to amazing places...give us a few years and world (or at least European) domination will be ours.
I watched an Education a while ago, and so naturally I had to go to Paris. It’s one of the few cities that actually exceeded my expectations. I’m in love. Pardon, je veux dire, je suis tombée amoureuse. The very streetlamps ooze glamour and...frenchness. We (as in moi, mon petit frère et mes parents) did all the usual tourist things, walked down the Champs-Elysées, singing the song that goes with it, climbed the Eiffel tower, went on a boat down the Seine, spent hours in the Louvre. However, my favourite part was still the first night when we went to the theatre. (Yes I am aware of how pretentious this all sounds, but what can I do ? C’est Paris, c’est ce qu’il faut faire) It was a complete surprise. There I was, sitting innocently in the hotel room, when suddenly my parents announce that we’re going to see a play. Not only that, but it’s Ibsen (love!) and it stars possibly the most famous contemporary french actress, Audrey Tautou. C’était magnifique. Vraiment superbe. I don’t think I’ve ever felt like such a european hybrid either, having travelled from Spain to watch a Norwegian play, that I originally read in English, being performed in French. Un peu bizarre, non ? Torvald (Michel Fau) Krogstad (Pascal Elso) et Nora (Audrey Tautou):

Again, to save you the time and prevent this nauseating stream of eurotrash pretentiousness, I have condensed my Parisian experiences into a single collage. That is how I express my love, through the art of collage :)

Sooo, that is all for now. Hopefully I will blog again sometime in the near future, unless I completely forget...again. I am currently reading La Peste - Camus/ The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists - Tressel, my song of the moment is Daylight - Matt&Kim and I am currently wearing pyjamas. Also, I wish you a belated Happy Easter! Chocolate! Mmmm... Love, Sarah-bear xxx
